Art Carapola is a seasoned technology leader providing strategic insight and direction to the management of the large IT Infrastructure initiatives. Art has extensive experience in complex project management including the development of global network strategies and architectures as well as implementing those strategies with systems and desktop rollouts.  In addition he has spearheaded major datacenter, trading floor and facility infrastructure design and implementations. Specific focus on Infrastructure efficiency, management and metrics, and systems and server virtualization and consolidation. Art has managed technology in as many as 25 countries, managing budgets from $20 million to $100 million. He is Data Center Design Professional Certified as well as Six Sigma Project Management and Advanced Leadership certified . Art also has significant experience defining, deploying and managing technology internationally, in Europe, Asia and South America.

 

ACCOMPLISHMENT HIGHLIGHTS

    • At Moody’s Art was IT Project Manager responsible for infrastructure design and implementation of their headquarters relocation to the first reconstructed World Trade Center building. He managed the construction and cutover of a 5,000 sq ft datacenter and IT infrastructure for 700K sq ft of office space. As part of this effort Art transitioned the company to VoIP, SONET Networking, and an advanced Datacenter Facility Infrastructure. From a desktop and user perspective, Art drove a review and update of company standards, defined IT processes and leveraged the relocation to align the systems with the standards. Art also managed the technology reconstruction for multiple global offices.

    • At Soros Fund Management Art was Project Manager for the implementation of two Trading Floors and a new Data Center. Also lead their DR efforts

    • At HBK Investments Art was Project Manager for the design and implementation of new Trading Floors and Data Centers in both HBK’s Dallas and New York locations.

    • At MasterCard International, Art was responsible for driving a ground up rearchitecture of the internal corporate systems environment, defining the company’s first distributed technology strategy and roadmap, technology standards and defined processes. He managed the implementation and operation of that technology in 25 countries. Art spearheaded the design, construction and migration to MasterCard’s Purchase, NY headquarters

    • Also at MasterCard, Art spearheaded a focused effort to redefine the client services environment. This included definition of processes, implementation of incident management tracking software and extensive metrics and monthly reporting, as well as formalized “Raving Fan” training for IT Service staff.

    • At GE Capital, Art spearheaded the “digitization” of the business. He identified business processes that were appropriate for automation and defined the divisional IT strategy to support the desired automation. Art spearheaded the implementation of eCommece applications, standardizing the business on a core set of common apps - collapsing the number from 15 to 4. Additionally, he consolidated service delivery into three datacenters worldwide.

    • Also at GE, Art collapsed multiple database environments into a Data Warehouse and associated Data Marts, supporting the Risk, Underwriting, and Finance Departments.

    • Technical resource to Promontory Financial Group to perform in-depth examination of Banks. Performed IT Compliance Reviews of domestic and international banks under Federal Reserve Sanction or Orders.

    • At Prudential Securities Art was the IT Project Manager for the development and implementation of a 60K sq ft Data Center, four Trading Floors and 1.4 million sq feet of office space.
